Hi there!
My name is Chrisostomos, and I'm the creator of Ithacorama.com, a heartfelt project born from my deep love for my home, the beautiful island of Ithaca in Greece.
I was born and raised in Vathy, Ithaca, and except for a few years studying and living in Larisa and Patras, Ithaca has always been my home. My passion for this island runs deep. Its nature, people, and culture are part of who I am.

This is the First Ithacorama, many updates followed after that.
The idea for Ithacorama first came to life back in 2010. Although I had no formal background in web development, I was curious and started experimenting with building websites. At the time, I was a little homesick and wanted to create something that connected me to home and that’s how Ithacorama was born.
I envisioned a complete travel guide and business directory for Ithaca, where visitors could find everything they needed in one place, beaches, sights, accommodation, food, nightlife, history, and more. My goal was simple: to share the magic of Ithaca with the world.
While studying Tourism Business Management, I even included Ithacorama in my thesis, which explored how the internet impacts tourism. It was a perfect match promoting the island I love while supporting local businesses.
Soon after, my good friend Tilemahos joined me on this journey. He helped find local businesses to support the site through advertising. Unfortunately, as both of us became busy with work and life, we didn’t have much time to keep it updated. Still, we kept it online, and to our surprise, people kept visiting – and calling us for information!
In 2021, during the COVID lockdowns, I finally had a bit of time – and a big motivation to restart everything. I completely rebuilt the website from scratch, with a fresh new idea:
To create not just a tourist guide, but a comprehensive and free directory of every local business on the island.
The core information is available for everyone, while businesses can choose to support the site with a small subscription for extra features. Visitors can also support us with optional donations to help keep the website running and up to date.
That same year, I also became a father (an amazing adventure on its own!). As you can imagine, time became a bit limited, so progress was slow but steady.
After a few more pauses (life gets busy!), I’m happy to say that in 2025, Ithacorama v2 is finally ready!
It’s better than ever , filled with updated information, new listings, and more ways to discover everything Ithaca has to offer. Whether you’re planning a visit or just want to explore, I hope the site gives you a taste of the island’s charm.
Thanks so much for stopping by. If you find Ithacorama useful, please consider subscribing, donating, or simply sharing it with others. Every bit of support helps keep this passion project alive.
And don’t forget to follow us on social media for updates, stories, and local gems from Ithaca.
See you on the island!
