It’s not known when the church was built, but it operated until the earthquake of 1953 where it suffered severe damage.

In the church are preserved Byzantine frescoes, while the wooden temple was destroyed which was by the  earthquakes in 1953, dating from the 17th century moved to the church of Saint Raphael in Perachori.

The Church is known as Panagia Paleochora  or Palia Panagia.
