The first option follows the scenic coastal road from Kioni to Frikes. This route provides stunning views along the way, but reaching Mavrona itself requires a short detour. Keep an eye out for a small dirt road branching off near Rachi. This path winds through the picturesque landscape, eventually revealing the ruins of the once-functioning St. Nicholas Chapel. The weathered remnants add a touch of history to your journey. The path culminates at the secluded bay cradling Mavrona Beach.
Alternatively, you can access Mavrona Beach by boat. This option allows you to appreciate the dramatic coastline and turquoise waters from a different perspective. Boat tours or private rentals often include Mavrona Beach as a stop, providing a refreshing escape and a chance to explore the hidden cove.
No matter which route you choose, the reward is the same: a tranquil paradise of smooth pebbles, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking natural beauty.
