Its purposes are to organize various artistic and cultural events, free discussions on any topic, creating the theatrical group of Ithaca and the lending library.
Also the establishment of dancing groups, organizing carnival celebrations, organizing quality film screenings, organizing conferences and naturalιstic events, the organization of the annual theater festival, book publishing particularly by authros from Ithaca and books related to Ithaca, the development of musical activities in cooperation with the philarmonic orchestra of the island and the development of visual arts. It's intention is in cooperation with other public organizations in the municipality to raise the cultural level of the residents.
