Ithaca is famous all around the world since the ancient times as it is refereed by the ancient poet Homer in both of his epics. You can find three museums in Ithaca. In Vathy, visitors can see the Archaeological Museum which hosts a vast collection of findings from the Geometric to the Roman years, and the Naval and folklore museum, which hosts exhibits and collections of the cultural heritage of the island of Ithaca. Another archaeological museum collection can be viewed in Stavros village, where visitors will have the opportunity to see pieces of pottery and ceramics from various historical periods.
