The first city founded was the Odyssean Asti . As for its location, the opinions of archaeologists are divided.

It houses finds from the northern Ithaca dating from the proto-Helladic as the Roman period. The building was constructed in 1933. In 1994 was reform of the report and repairs of the Museum.

Stavros is the second biggest village on Ithaca and it is situated 16klm from Vathy. It was built in the 16th century and its main attractions are the archeological museum and the bust of Odysseus which can be found at the central square.
